Couple therapy involves both partners sitting down in a safe and supportive environment to discuss their thoughts, feelings, concerns, and hopes for how they would like the relationship to change.

During couple therapy, the therapist helps the couple to identify, clarify and develop a deeper understanding the problem areas, and the couple works collaboratively with the therapist to attempt to resolve these issues.

Couples seek therapy for a variety of issues, and every couple is unique. Some of the most common issues that couples bring to Kelli’s practice include:

  • Communication difficulties
  • Frequent arguments
  • Unfulfilled emotional needs
  • Resolving betrayals and other hurts in the relationship
  • Family conflicts
  • Financial concerns
  • Problems with sex and intimacy in the relationship
  • Trust issues
  • Disagreements regarding parenting or other “roles” within the relationship

Kelli is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).  She is also a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist of the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT) and the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (OAMFT).
